Strawberry Buttermilk Pancake Syrup

strawberry buttermilk pancake syrup

When you go out to most restaurants for breakfast there are options to what kind of syrup you can have. I love trying all the different kinds they offer. Last night was a quick pull together for dinner. We had waffles for dinner. Yes breakfast can be served for dinner.. I really love it for dinner actually. If you haven’t tried it before, do it. You will love it I am sure. Even though the waffle dinner was a quick fix I wanted to make it different form my average waffles. I had about 2 cups of strawberries in the fridge I needed to use up. I thought why not make syrup out of them?? It was a great idea.  The syrup was super yummy and made our average waffle dinner even better.

1 cup of water

1 cup of sugar

2 cups of quartered strawberries

1/2 cup of buttermilk

Bring the water to a boil. Once the water has boiled add the sugar and let it dissolve and continue to boil. Let it boil until it becomes a syrup like consistency. Add the quartered strawberries and heat on medium high heat for about 10-15 minutes. Stir your syrup often so it doesn’t burn to the bottom of the pot. After about 10 minutes add the 1/2 cup of buttermilk to syrup. Heat and stir until mixed well. Remove from heat and let sit for a few minutes before serving on pancakes, waffles or french toast. Hope you enjoy!
