Pumpkin Bars

I am loving all these fun and yummy fall recipes. I just love holiday food. Growing up I never really liked anything pumpkin. I have only started liking it in the last few years. I am also loving cooking with pumpkin as well. Stay tuned for our secret breakfast made with pumpkin. You are going to love it. Should have it up later this week. Hope you enjoy these mouth watering pumpkin bars while you wait.

2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon pumpkin-pie spice
1 teaspoon baking soda
3/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, at room temperature
1 1/4 cups granulated sugar
1 large egg
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 cup canned pumpkin puree (not pumpkin pie filling)
1 package chocolate chips


Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Also grease a 9 x 13 baking pan for your pumpkin bars.

Mix together in a separate bowl , dry ingredients.

In your mixture mix together all the wet ingredients. Now add all the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients.Mix well. Fold in the chocolate chips.  Using a rubber spatula spread the batter out evening in your baking dish.

Bake for 35-40 minutes and serve warm.
