Homemade Mac & Cheese

My kids love mac & cheese. In fact they would eat it for every meal if I would make it for them. Most of the time we eat it for lunch because it’s quick and easy.  I do the box kind then, but I decided to have it for dinner tonight. For dinner I decided it needed to be a little fancier and homemade. It is such an easy recipe I might start making it for lunch for my kids too. They loved it too, so that is always a plus. I am not a huge fan of the box Mac & Cheese so this yummy homemade version was amazing to enjoy as a family!

  • 2 cups Elbow Pasta
  • 2 cups Shredded Colby-jack Cheese, Plus More For Topping
  • 1 can (10 Oz. Size) Cream Of Chicken Soup
  • 1 cup Sour Cream
  • 1 stick Butter
  • 2 teaspoons Pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Salt
  • 3 teaspoons Italian Bread Crumbs

Cook pasta. Once it is done, add all the other ingredients except bread crumbs. Mix well.

Preheat oven to 350ºF. Transfer mac and cheese to a casserole dish sprayed with nonstick spray. Sprinkle bread crumbs and a little bit of shredded cheese on top. Heat in oven until warmed. (You don’t have to heat it in the oven if you are going to eat it right away. It should still be warm from cooking.)
