Hamburger Soup

hamburger soup

I was just at a friends baby shower the other night, and they served all sorts of different soups and desserts. It was such a fun shower. She is having a little boy, so the theme was dump trucks and under construction. So cute! Well the soup that I had was a super yummy hamburger soup. I loved it so much I decided to come home and make my own recipe for hamburger soup the next day. The one at the shower didn’t have noodles in it, but it had potatoes. This soup can be optional. You can put potatoes or pasta. Or if you don’t like either it would be just fine with out it. I think that the potatoes or pasta give it a little more taste and more thickness though. Hope you enjoy my hamburger soup recipe and eat up! Stay warm out there. I know that in different parts of our country there is all sorts of snow coming down. This soup will help with that. So enjoy!

1 pound of ground hamburger

2 T olive oil

1 cup of chopped carrots

1 cup of chopped onions

2 garlic cloves minced

2 ( 8oz) cans tomato sauce

1 1/2 cans diced tomatoes

3 cups of beef broth

1 T Worcestershire sauce

1 tsp marjoram

1 1/4 cups of elbow noodles or diced potatoes

In a large pot place your hamburger with 1 T of olive oil. Brown the hamburger then add the onions, garlic cloves and carrots with 1 T of olive oil. Simmer and stir until cooked. Add the tomato sauce, tomatoes broth, Worcestershire sauce, marjoram. Simmer on medium heat for about 10 minutes. Add your pasta or potatoes and bring to a boil and cook until noodles or potatoes are done. Serve hot with grated Parmesan cheese on top.
