Just in the last few year I have noticed that my scalp gets super dry and itchy in the winter time. I have always lived in dry areas of the country so that doesn’t help either. I have tried all sorts of shampoo’s and conditioners from the stores. It can be super expensive to buy the super good stuff though. I decided to do some research and see what you can make for treatment right from home in your kitchen. These are super easy treatments and wont cost you a fortune to keep up. Just add the ingredients to your grocery list. I hope that these are helpful tips, and your scalp starts feeling better.
1: Coconut Oil
Warm the oil and massage it into your scalp. Repeat this about 2-3 times a week until dryness is gone. Wash out with your regular shampoo.
2: Olive Oil
Heat the oil and massage it into your scalp. Leave on scalp for about 30 minutes. Then rinse and wash hair. Repeat a few times a week until scalp is no longer dry and itchy.
3: Lemon juice
Lemon juice is a great exfoliator. Apply to scalp and massage. Leave on for 30 minutes. Continue to use until all the dry skin is gone on your scalp.
4: Egg white mixed with yogurt
The egg white has great proteins that your hair needs. It will strengthen your scalp & hair follicles. The yogurt is a great moisturizer for your scalp. Mix one egg white and 1 cup of plain yogurt. Add to scalp and massage into scalp. Leave on for 30 minutes or longer. Repeat if needed.
5: Mayonnaise
Apply the mayonnaise right to your scalp before you shampoo it. Once it is all over your scalp and hair wrap your head in plastic wrap. Leave it on for 30 minutes. Rinse and shampoo. Mayonnaise is a great moisturizer.
6: Apple Cider Vinegar
Vinegar is extremely effective for the treatment of dandruff as it is rich in potassium and enzymes which will help to cure an itchy scalp and dandruff. You can massage apple cider vinegar into the dandruff scalp 5 to 7 minutes.
7: Baking Soda
Baking soda is a great way to remove all the dandruff. Add about 1 tsp to your regular shampoo.
8: Lemon & Garlic
Mix together 1 Tbsp. of lemon juice and 1 Tbsp. of garlic. Apply paste to your scalp. The Lemon juice will get rid of the flakes and the garlic acts as an antibiotic for your scalp.
9: Aspirin
Crush up two aspirin’s and add to a handful of shampoo when you wash your hair. It will get rid of the flakes.
10: Salt
Add salt directly to your scalp. Massage for 10 minutes. This will act as a exfoliate and remove the flakes.
