Apple pie cake

I am a lover of both pie and cake. I just can’t decide which one I love more. I love this cake because it taste like apple pie in a cake form. It’s the best. You can even add cream or ice cream like you would with pie. It makes for a great dessert to take to those parties where there are a mix of people. Some people like cake some like pie. You will please them all with this cake. I made this cake for a family Sunday dinner, and it turned out great. It was just the perfect sweetness that everyone needed after a big Sunday meal.  I had a a few pieces left over, so I took them home, and ate them for breakfast. I always love a good piece of apple pie in the morning, why not apple pie cake right??  I always try to have box cakes on hand for quick desserts like this. Please enjoy yourself. This recipe is so easy and quick. The whole family will love it. Eat up!

1 yellow or white boxed cake

1 1/2 cup of water

1/3 cup oil

3 eggs

Apple mixture:

6 apples, cored, and sliced and diced

3 T brown sugar

1 tsp cinnamon

1 T lemon juice


3/4 cup of flour

1/2 cup brown sugar

1/4 tsp salt

1/2 cup of butter, cut into small peices

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Mix your box cake according to the back of the box in a large bowl. In a other large bowl place diced apples, brown sugar, cinnamon and lemon juice. Toss the apples so that they get covered well. Pour your cake batter into a greased 9×13 Pyrex pan. Pour the apples on top next, and spread them evenly on top of the batter. In a small bowl mix together your topping for the cake. Take a fork and cut the butter into the sugar flour mixture. Sprinkle on top of the cake as well. Bake for about 1 hour. Poke a fork in side and if it comes out clean its ready. Serve with ice cream or whip cream. Also you could sprinkle some powdered sugar on top as well.
