Well they do take longer to cook and sometimes you just don’t have time. Believe me I know about not having time for things. I am the expert at not having time for certain things in my life. This recipe though of white beans & ham is going to save you time in the long run. It’s all in the crock pot. It will be your life savor for sure when it come to this meal. It’s super easy to prepare so lets get going on it!

Ingredients:

1 pound of dried white northern beans

1 pound of diced ham

2 tsp of garlic powder

6 cups of water

salt & pepper for taste

1/4 cup of diced carrots

3 stalks o celery, diced

 1/2 onion diced

Note: You will need to prepare this 6 hours a head of the time you want to eat it. Which means no rushing to cook dinner when it’s time right?? 🙂

Pour the pound of beans into the bottom of your crock pot. Place 6 cups of water into the pot. Turn your crock pop up to high while you are chopping your ham, carrots, onions and celery. Once all your veggies and ham is chopped and diced toss it all into the crock pot as well. Add salt and pepper and garlic salt as well. Give it a good stir and pop the lid on top. Let cook for 6 hours on high. If possible stir every once in a while. If not it will be totally fine. Serve hot. Growing up when my mom would make this for us we always added a couple of teaspoons of apple cider vinegar to it. It gives it a flavor boost for sure. Enjoy!
