Strawberry- Rhubarb Crisp

I have another delicious crisp to share with you all. If you have never had rhubarb it super yummy in desserts. We were visiting a friend in a different town near by who had rhubarb growing by his house. His house was owned by his roommate, and so we asked him if we could have some of the rhubarb. He thought it was just a weed, and was going to kill it. I was so glad we were there before he did. We had him over for this crisp shortly after, and he also loves rhubarb now.

Here is what a rhubarb plant looks like

When you see a plant like this next time, and think it is a weed don’t kill it. Cut the stems off and chop the stems without the leaves and use it in this dessert. You wont regret it. Rhubarb comes back every year usually, and will sometimes spread from my experience. Rhubarb is considered a vegetable, and is a celery like plant with leaves. You can eat the stalk and the leaves. I have never eaten the leaves, but if you do let me know how they are? Source

    Rhubarb leaves should NEVER be eaten. It has a poison substance. Go to Wikipedia,org for more. I love rhubarb & strawberries. I add some strawberry jello to the mixture, to thicken it and more flavor.
