Oven-Baked French Fries

Oven-Baked French Fries

Have you ever used a french fry cutter? I just got one a couple of weeks ago actually, and I love it. It makes all the hard work of making fries so much easier. I was able to make a batch of fries in no time with my new cutter. I did some research and found some great fry cutters for you all if it’s been on your wish list lately. Check them out!

Mine is a lot like the first link. I purchased mine at Harbor Freight when I was with my husband shopping. All three of these would do the job though.

I have never made oven-baked french fries before either, but I decided to try it. I love having them fried in oil, but I hate the mess I have to clean up after. The oven was the cleaner way to go. We enjoyed them with some yummy grilled cheese sandwiches. It was a great way to fancy up our meal a little. Enjoy!

3 large potatoes

1 T garlic salt

1 T chili powder

1 T Parmesan cheese

Olive oil

Salt

Water

Wash your potatoes really well. I always use a brush to wash them with to make sure I get all the dirt off. I like my fries with the peel on, but you can peel it off as well. Since we are using large potatoes, you might need to cut them in half to fit in your potato cutter. After you are done cutting your fries. I placed them in a bowl of water with a bit of salt to soak for about 30 minutes. This helps with baking them so they don’t get mushy.

Preheat your oven to 425 degrees. Place all your fries in a bowl, drizzle your olive oil on top. Then add garlic salt, chili powder and Parmesan cheese. Toss the fries so they are evenly covered. Place on a non-stick cookie sheet to bake. Bake for 30 minutes. After 15 minutes using a spatula turn the fries. Serve nice and warm with some ketchup or fry sauce for dipping.
