Growing up my siblings and I loved when my mom would make her homemade hot cocoa. The recipe was passed down from her Grandmother. My mom lived with her grandparents starting at a very young age. Whenever her grandmother would make tuna fish sandwiches they would have this hot cocoa as well. Seems like a funny combo to me, but my mom said it was the best. We love the hot cocoa still today. My mom just made it for us all this Christmas. I wanted to share this delicious recipe with you all to enjoy as well.
2 serving spoon fulls of cocoa
1 cup sugar
a little bit of evaporated milk
With these 3 ingredients make kind of a paste in a bowl pot.
Add 2 cans of evaporated milk next to a large pitcher. Mix the paste in with it as well. Fill the pitcher the rest of the way up with milk. Add a pinch of salt. More or less cocoa can be added to meet your taste. You can drink it cold or heated. My kids like it cold in their sippy cups. I love it heated on a cold day. Its great either way.
