Cherry Pineapple Dump Cake

dump cake

Whenever the grocery store has boxed cakes on sale I buy them. If you are in need of a quick dessert to take to a party, dinner or just to meet your sweet craving you are having, these box cakes come in handy. They make great crisp, any sort of quick cake, cookies you name it. I especially love dump cakes. Well it says it all in the name. All you have to do is dump and bake, and you have yourself a quick yummy dessert. The other night my husband and I had our financial adviser over to our house, and I wanted to regionally have him eat dinner with us. Well he wouldn’t let me make dinner for him, so I made this Cherry Pineapple Dump Cake. It turned out great, and even better I had everything in my pantry already. So no running to the store to grab things. It paired great with a little vanilla ice cream. It really hit the spot. Enjoy!

1 yellow box cake

1/2 cup of butter

1 can of cherry pie filling

1 can of crushed, tidbits or chunks pineapple

8 oz of Walnuts ( optional)

In a greased 9×13 or bunt cake pan add your can of cherries. Spread it in the pan evenly. Next add the pineapple and spread evenly. Next add your box cake mix. If desired sprinkle 8 oz of chopped walnuts on as well. Top it off with the butter. Using a butter stick slice the stick in small slices and spread around the cake evenly. Bake at 350 for 45-50 minutes. Check for done-ness with a fork. Serve with cream or ice cream.
