Cherry Cheese Cake Brownies

Cherry Cheese cake brownies

Today I made a goal to start eating healthier. I just needed to get out of this funk of eating junk, tons of sugar and the kids left over mac & cheese. Before I started this I needed one last sugar treat. I was craving for something chocolate and cheese cake like. I decided to make a cheese cake brownie and with cherries as well. It was amazing and I wanted to share the recipe with you all. Enjoy one last yummy treat before starting that diet you plan to start this new year.

Okay, now that I have eaten my delicious brownie it’s time to get out the greens and fruits! I have locked my information in the Myfitness app on my phone and I am ready to get healthier! Here is to a healthier me in 2016! Anyone else have this as a goal this year? Share your tips and how you are going to getting healthier in 2016 in the comments below. I would love to hear what you all are doing.

Cherry Cheese Cake Brownies

1 Duncun Hines Brownie mix

1 8oz cream cheese, softened

1 egg

1 tsp of vanilla

1/3 cup of sugar

1 can of cherry pie filling

Mix the brownie mix according to the back of the box for a 9 X 13 pan.

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Then pour half of the brownie batter into a glass 9 x 13 Pyrex pan. Be sure to spray the pan with non-stick spray beforehand.

Now it’s time to mix together the cheese cake part. Mix together the cream cheese, egg, vanilla and sugar with a hand mixer or standing mixer. It is going to be kind of a runny consistency, but that’s perfect. Spread the cheese cake mixture on top of the brownie batter.

Now open the can of cherry pie filling and spoon it on top of the cheese cake mix. Try not to put too much in one spot. You want the brownies to cook evenly.

Lastly, take the rest of the brownie batter on top of everything. Toss the brownies into the oven and bake for 45 minutes. After 30-35 minutes poke the middle with a tooth pick to check for readiness. If the tooth pick comes out clean it’s ready, if not bake for the last 10 minutes. Let the brownies cool before serving them.
